Guoyi Guman
I have been a designer since the beginning of 21 century. My specialty is footwear design. My knowledge of footwear design lays in years of experiences in the world of design and product creation. I gain design knowledge and skills through working on brands like FILA, Umbro, Rockport, PONY, FUBU and for companies like Nike and Reebok.
After years of training and learning (still learning) design is not just a job, design is my passion, design is problem solving. It is truly what makes me tick. Which is why I’ll be there every step of the process - from scribbles to final blue prints to prototyping to innovating in order to make every design great; from planning to execution in order to make every project a success.

Design Drawing is a skill both practical in the field and emotional satisfying in expressing ideas. More so design drawing are communication tools that translate an idea into a physical product.
I often say, “Drawing skill of a designer is the cooking skill of a chef.”
There are many types of drawing skills, such as aesthetic drawings or renderings or technical CADs and many more. Each type of drawing should serve a specific purpose during each phase of design process, and each type of design drawing presents different amount of information from broad discovery ideation sketches, aesthetic drawings, photo realistic render presentations to detailed technical CADs for development and many more.

No design can come to fruition without working with factories. Larger part of designer’s job is to participate and sometime oversee development of an idea to best capture of a concept. After years of full time job experiences visiting factory on every design. I have acquired very critical part of development knowledges and skills, prototyping.
Prototyping is a set of skills and knowledges creating a mockup of a design without using production machinery. In footwear prototyping is to turn an initial sneaker design into a sample as close to the final product without open series of costly tooling and molds. Essentially prototyping of a sneaker design is the abilities of hand craftsmanship.
The accuracy of a prototype sample ensures the execution of final product met with every aspect of an idea, and a step closer to success of manufacturing.

I work with companies, startups on design projects and consulting on product planning. I help existing brands to create new and fresh products to bring new life to brands, I design unique and innovative product for startups and new brands to bring excitement to market. I focus on features, characteristics, functions of products that will benefit brands for years to come.
