In the world of sneaker manufactory, fake shoes are the end result of a long process of a successful branding shoe creation. As a matter of fact, every famous branding product manufactory has its own fake market. In a way, fake product is a “milestone” at the end of a product creation process. It is a sign of success, some may say.
I used to have very strong feelings toward fake products. I would say things like coping, stealing, disrespect, or plain wrong to describe. I still believe it’s uncool to produce fake products as a way of making profit. However, I start to realize the existence of fake product market is almost as natural as slice bread. Well, not exactly as slice bread, but you know what I mean.
Over years of design and develop shoes, I have grown fond of fake shoes. I have even visited one or two fake markets when I had chance. I was surprised at the quality of some high end fakes. And for some, the amount of creativity in those shoes are just straight out crazy and amusing.
During my years of shoe creations for brands, I have to touch and study every pair like a piece of art for month before production. I begin to develop a six sense spotting the real and fakes. When I am out and about, my vision naturally drawn towards these fake shoes. These fake details on these shoes are just so obvious suddenly. I started to have the habits taking snap shots of these fake shoes every time I spot one. Sometime I can spot these fakes from far away. I had to zoom in order to take a closed shot. These pictures are the visual evidence of what fake real means.
